Park Pavilion Rentals
Dates of Operation: April 1–October 31
Rental Time Slots: 10 am–2 pm or 3 pm–7 pm, full day rentals must reserve both time slots.
Reservation Opening Dates:
- Residents may begin reserving pavilions on January 5, 2026.
- Non-Residents may begin reserving pavilions on April 1, 2026.

Rules Governing Pavilion Usage:
- Food trucks, bounce houses, or any 3rd party vendor of that nature are not allowed under the terms of a Park Shelter Permit. To have these at your event, you must apply for a Special Event Permit thirty (30) days prior to your event. Special event permitting is operated through the City Clerk's office.
- Permits are only good for date and time shown (there are no rain dates).
- Permits must be retained at all times by group user and presented to City employees upon request.
- Refunds are granted up to two (2) weeks prior to date reserved, less a $10 admin processing fee. There are no refunds given due to rain or poor weather conditions. NOTE: The Normandy Oaks Pavilion is NOT tied to the splash pad. No refund will be given if the splash pad is closed.
- Groups are responsible for leaving shelter area clean and orderly.
- Loudspeakers or amplification of loud music is prohibited.
- Pony rides are not allowed.
- Solicitation of funds and gambling are not permitted.
- Alcoholic beverages are not permitted.
- Rental groups are responsible for all equipment, valuables, and clothing left in the park shelter.
- Rental groups must assume all responsibility in case of accident or injuries to persons during rental.
- Rental groups shall agree to pay for all damages and losses that might occur to the premises being rented.
- No alterations or additions shall be made in or to the premises; no holes shall be made or drilled in any part of the structure for any purpose.
- There is NO electricity available.
- Vehicles must be parked in legal parking areas. There is NO parking allowed on the park grounds.
Restroom Facilities are available:
- VFW - East side outside wall of Salter Community Center
- Memorial - Top of hill near ball fields
- Lawson Park - Porta-potty
- Starr Jaycee - Attached to main pavilion
- Normandy Oaks - Attached
Athletic Field Reservations
Fields may be rented between: April 1 - October 31
Community Rental Requests begin inputting: March
Spring-Summer 2026 Available Fields: Baseball/Softball only
City residents, leagues, and businesses are eligible to reserve athletic fields. Parks & Rec programs and city partners are given priority field use. Community rentals will be input following internal reservations and handled on a first-come basis. Permits must be on-site to be considered valid.

Max Field Dimensions (mound/base):
Fields can be set up according to the needs of your group. We have field dimensions from 40/60 up to 60/90. Some dimensions are listed below. Please contact us for fields not listed here.

- Worden #4 & #5: 50/70

Rules governing athletic field rentals:
- Full payment is required for single-day reservations at the time of registration.
- A 20% non-refundable deposit is required for multi-day reservations.
- The balance must be paid 14 days before the reservation date; otherwise, the reservation will be forfeited, and the customer may be prohibited from making future reservations in the current season.
- New reservations will not be accepted by customers with an outstanding balance.
- No outdoor athletic fields are playable during the month of March.
Regarding Weather:
- Field permits will not be cancelled or transferred due to expected weather.
- If the Parks & Recreation department cannot set up the field due to field conditions, group will be notified in advance and a make up date arranged at no added cost.
- If no make up date can be agreed upon, a refund of 50% of fees will return to the group.
- If game/s are cancelled by the group due to weather, notify the department no later than 24 hours after the cancellation.
- If available, a game may be moved to a make up date for a $15 Fee. If no make up date can be agreed upon, a refund of 25% of paid fees will return to the group.
- Teams must confirm all make up dates with the department PRIOR to scheduling the game/s.
Gymnasium Rentals
There is a multi-purpose gym that can be rented by the hour located inside the Jack and Pati Salter Community Center. Food and drinks are not allowed in the gym. The gym cannot be rented for birthday parties.
The only drop-in activities the gym hosts are Bounce Volleyball and Pickleball (seasonally). Please visit our Programs Page, and select the options for "Drop-ins" to see current schedules.

Leo Mahany/Harold Meininger Senior Community Center Reservations
Meeting rooms at the M/M Senior Community Center are available for rent by non-profit groups during the evening hours. Room set-up and take-down are the responsibility of the requesting organization. The Center is available for private functions, such as birthday parties, wedding receptions, family reunions, etc. For information regarding rental policies and fees, call 248-246-3900.
Farmers Market
The Farmers Market is available Monday through Friday, January - April, for any hours. Beginning May 1st, Fridays are reserved as market days. Saturdays - From 3 p.m. - 11 p.m. all year. Posted Occupancy - 700. For more information, call 248-246-3276.
Outdoors Special Events
Use permits are required for all outdoor events, including but not limited to running events, fundraisers, festivals, tournaments, weddings, and any other event that may take place in public parks and/or city facilities.
