Dr. Herzog was elected to the city commission on November 7, 2023. She is an environmental engineer experienced in agricultural and environmental sustainability. She has served on the Cranbrook Institute of Science Freshwater Forum Committee and Oakland County Parks and Recreation Commission and chaired the Royal Oak Environmental Advisory Board and Water Systems Advisory Council. Dr. Herzog holds a bachelor’s degree in Biosystems Engineering and a master’s and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Environmental Engineering from Michigan State University. She and her husband, Jason, have two young children and have lived in Royal Oak since 2011.
