 DECEMBER: 2023:

 

The Royal Oak Historical Society Christmas Exhibit begins at the museum on Saturday, December 2nd.  Click here for more details.  


There will be a Nature Society "Mammals of Tenhave” walk being held at Tenhave Woods on Sunday, December 3rdbeginning at 2:00 pm.  Come and learn about the mammals that live in Tenhave Woods.   We will look for signs of these mammals and have skulls and skins with us to help describe them and how they live. Historic Orson Starr Open House (3123 N. Main St.) will be held on Sunday, December 10th from 1 to 4 pm.  See Santa Claus.  Hear live period music & sounds of the season.  There will be light refreshments.

Royal Oak Musicale Holiday Concert: “Songs of the Season” will be held on Tuesday, December 19th, at 7:30 pm at the First Congregational Church located at 1314 Northwood Blvd. (Webster & Crooks) in Royal Oak.  Featured will be the Royal Oak Musicale Chorus and Matt Ball-piano.


JANUARY: 2024:


“25 Common Ferns of Michigan” will be held on Thursday, January 11th at the Royal Oak Historical Museum (on Webster, just west of  Crooks)  beginning at 7:00 pm.   Join naturalist Don Drife, Royal Oak Nature Society’s botanist, for this presentation on ferns commonly seen in Michigan. Michigan’s 108 named pteridophyte species are a manageable group to learn. This talk will start you on your way to learn this group or be a review of the species. Basic terminology will be reviewed, and species key characters will be shared along with numerous pictures showing the plants in their natural habitats along with closeups showing key characters. There is no cost & registration is not required.


There will be a Winter Tree Identification nature walk at Cummingston Park on Sunday, January 14th,  beginning at 2:00 pm.  The trees will be identified by looking at buds, bark & twigs.  There is no cost & registration is not required.  Park & meet at Torquay & Leafdale. Please click here for more nature walk information.


Royal Oak Musicale Music Program will be held on Tuesday, January 16th, at 1:00 pm at the First Congregational Church located at 1314 Northwood Blvd. in Royal Oak.   Featured will be Irina Tikhonova String Quartet and the Royal Oak Musicale Madrigal Singers.


FEBRUARY: 2024:


Royal Oak Musicale Music Program will be held on Tuesday, February 20th, at 1:00 pm at the First Congregational Church located at 1314 Northwood Blvd. in Royal Oak.   Featured will be Winthrop Winds, Woodwind Quintet, and the Meadowbrook Winds Trio

 

MARCH: 2024:


Royal Oak Musicale Music Program will be held on Tuesday, March 19th, at 1:00 pm at the First Congregational Church located at 1314 Northwood Blvd. in Royal Oak.   Featured will be the Windsong Woodwind Quartet- Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, French Horn, Bassoon


APRIL: 2024: 


Royal Oak Musicale Music Program will be held on Tuesday, April 16th, at 7:30 pm at the First Congregational Church located at 1314 Northwood Blvd. in Royal Oak.   Featured will be the Royal Oak Musicale Madrigal Singers- Kelly Roenicke-Violin, Darryl Roenicke-Piano

The Rotary Club’s 40th Annual Scholarship and Bill Sullivan Memorial Auction will be held on Saturday, April 20th.  Please click here for more information.


The Royal Oak Nature Society's 16th Annual Fundraiser will be held at the Royal Oak Farmers Market on Thursday, April 25th from 7 to 10 pm.
