In today's Royal Oak Review, there's an article about new barriers at railroad crossings being installed in Ferndale with the result being that trains no longer need to blow their horns (as much) at intersections. We need this in Royal Oak!
I live along the railroad track and I love it, except for when I'm relaxing in my home with my windows open and a train comes by blasting the horn. I've had friends jump up in the air in shock. It's awful noise pollution. Especially now with millions of dollars of new development going in and around downtown and along the train track, this is a significant quality of life issue that we need to address.
If this works in Ferndale, it would be really great to implement in Royal Oak.
