Fourth of July Holiday: What's open? What closed?

Friday, July 4: All City of Royal Oak facilities will be closed on Friday, July 4 in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Normal police and fire services will be provided.
Saturday, July 5: The Royal Oak Farmers Market is open (7 a.m. to 1 p.m.). The Royal Oak Public Library is closed.
Sunday, July 6: The Royal Oak Farmers Market is open for the Sunday Antique Market from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Curbside recycling and trash pickup is delayed one day for those residents whose pick up day is Friday, July 4.

The Royal Oak Senior Center is closed for renovations, including updated bathrooms, new flooring, and more. Staff have relocated to the Royal Oak Public Library to continue to serve you throughout the project.

Transportation and travel will continue as usual.
ROSES and AGE counseling and support programs will continue as usual.
If you're registered for a program, staff will be in touch to update you. We're working hard to find alternative locations for as many programs as possible to minimize impact on services.

The renovation is expected to be completed by August 18. We can't wait to welcome you back into our brighter and better Center! Thanks for your patience as we work to create an improved facility for all.

Pick Up the 2025 Park Passport

You can pick up the 'Farmers Market Edition' of the 2025 Park Passport in the Royal Oak Farmers Market office and at City Hall during normal business hours. Now paperback perfect bound with a glossy cover, the new passport is packed with fresh photos, and updated info on all 51 parks.

Our community partner in recycling and waste, SOCRRA, is asking for your input through a quick 2-question pulse survey! They want to know:

🚫 Plastic bags are our biggest problem—please bring your compost in a compostable bag or a reusable bucket.

*The Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) checks if a material can break down safely in compost. If something is BPI-certified, it means it has been tested to make sure it composts properly.
