2024 Construction Projects Map

Use the map above to see if a project is affecting your street. The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project.

Notices of Construction have been mailed to affected residents and copies are available online here.

CAP2407 Crooks Road

This week the contractor will be finishing concrete on the south Planet Fitness driveway approach, at Hickory intersection and any other spot work. Backfilling behind new curbing and clean up will take place.

Early next week, the contractor is planning on milling the existing asphalt roadway in preparation for new asphalt.

CAP2416/2415 Asphalt Resurfacing

Additional work has been added to the project. The contractor will be resurfacing Sherman Drive between S Lafayette Ave and S Washington Ave, and also Sixth Street between Altadena Ave and Alexander Ave.  

This work is scheduled to begin the week of August 5th (weather permitting) and will take two to three weeks. 

On Sherman Drive, work is expected to take 2-3 weeks and will be completed prior to the Arts, Beats and Eats Festival. Sherman Drive will be closed to vehicular traffic during construction. Sidewalks and businesses will remain open throughout the project.

Any remaining landscaping restoration for the completed project streets will continue this week, weather permitting.

CAP2435 Road Reconstruction

On Massoit, no work is planned for this week. Some barricades will be removed later in the week.

On Vinsetta, no work is planned for this week.

On Marais, the city is required to pause construction due to the election, as the senior center is a polling location. Work will resume after August 7, 2024.

On Glenwood, no work is planned for this week.  The new concrete is curing to gain strength.

On Hillside, the contractor plans to complete final grading and forms, and tentatively plans to pour the new concrete roadway next week. 

 *As part of this project the contractor will also be installing traffic calming chicanes on Marais Avenue between Thistle and Lexington as approved by the city commission.

CAP2405 Concrete Street Repairs

This project is now complete.

CAP2410 Water Main Improvements

The contractor will be performing individual water service transfers throughout the week on Northwood, and final water main connections will be performed near Lloyd. 

On Sycamore, there will be a water main connection towards the east end of the block this week.

If residents will be affected by a water shut off, they will be notified beforehand via doorhanger with the date, start time and duration of the shut off.

CAP2440 Green Infrastructure Improvements

Sheridan Drive - Arden Place - Grandview Road

The contractor has completed the water service transfers to the new water main and plans to make the final water main connections this week.
