2024 Construction Projects Map

Use the map above to see if a project is affecting your street. The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project.

Notices of Construction have been mailed to affected residents and copies are available online here.

CAP2407 Crooks Road

N. Main Street to 13 Mile Road

This week the contractor will be doing several water main connections to complete the new water main installation. If residents will be affected by a shut off, they will be notified the day beforehand via doorhanger with a time and duration for the shut off.

One lane will be open for traffic in each direction throughout construction. Left turns will be prohibited for northbound and southbound traffic throughout the corridor to reduce traffic backups. Access to businesses will be maintained during construction.

CAP2416/2415 Asphalt Resurfacing

This project will resurface several streets in the residential neighborhoods and the downtown.

CAP2416 Downtown Phase 1

Paving is now complete on the project streets downtown. Only some minor restoration and punch list work still needs to occur.

CAP2415 Neighborhoods

Phase 2: Irrigation and landscape restoration will continue this week.

Phase 3: The contractor will be paving the first layer of asphalt this week Mon-Wed. Once complete crews will work on adjusting drainage structures to the final roadway height for the remainder of the week.

Phase 4: The contractor will be paving the first layer of asphalt this week Mon-Wed. Once complete crews will work on adjusting drainage structures to the final roadway height for the remainder of the week.

Phase 5: The contractor is continuing concrete work this week on Irving, Batavia, and Longfellow. Also, a section of water main will be repaired on Wyandotte this week in advance of the asphalt resurfacing work.

CAP2435 Road Reconstruction

The forecast of inclement weather this week may delay some of the work.

On Albert Avenue, the contractor will continue work on grading and landscape restoration.

On Parkview, the contractor will be removing the forms from the completed driveway aprons and sidewalks, and start work on backfilling, clean up and removal of debris.

On Samoset, the contractor will be finishing the remaining restoration and will start having equipment, debris piles, signage and barricades removed.

On Vinsetta, the contractor will continue pavement removals this week.    

On Nakota, the contractor will be working on landscape restoration.

On Massoit, the contractor will continue with remaining removals this week on the west section, and finish the work at the intersection of Hampton on the east section once a sewer repair investigation is reviewed. Landscape grading and restoration to continue.

 *As part of this project the contractor will also be installing traffic calming chicanes on Marais Avenue between Thistle and Lexington as approved by the city commission.

CAP2405 Concrete Street Repairs

This project will replace some of the worst panels on the project streets shown in light blue on the project map linked above.

Phase 1 streets are now complete.

Phase 2 streets are mostly complete, with some second halves being finished on Woodland, Durham and Devon.

For Phase 3 streets, the contractor will finish pouring the remaining second halves.

For Phase 4 streets, the contractor will be finishing up the first halves this week.

For Phase 5 streets, the contractor has painted out the areas to be replaced and will begin removals likely later in the week.

First halves / Second halves - The contractor will work on one side of the street at a time to maintain access for residents during construction.

CAP2405 phasing

CAP2410 Water Main Improvements

Water main installation has begun on Northwood Boulevard. The contractor is near Maplewood and working east, heading towards Crooks. As the contractor moves east block to block, that block will be temporarily closed to traffic during work hours to allow for equipment and operations, and re-opened at the end of each work day.

CAP2440 Green Infrastructure Improvements

Sheridan Drive - Arden Place - Grandview Road

This project is scheduled to begin June 10th. The contractor has begun mobilizing materials and traffic control devices to the neighborhood, and saw-cutting the pavement to be removed in advance. Construction will begin work with water main installation on Sheridan Drive.

CAP2402 Sidewalk Program

The contractor's removal crew is working on sidewalk removals in the Phase 5  area this week area this week, and crews are pouring new sidewalks in Phase 3 & 4 areas.  Restoration crews are following behind doing backfill, topsoil and seed in the completed Phases.
