2024 Construction Projects Map available now!

Use the map above to see if a project is affecting your street. The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project.

Notices of Construction have been mailed to affected residents and copies are available online here.

CAP2407 Crooks Road

N. Main Street to 13 Mile Road

This week the contractor will be working on installation of a new section of water main from Royal to Webster and expects to complete installation by end of the week.

One lane will be open for traffic in each direction throughout construction. Left turns will be prohibited for northbound and southbound traffic throughout the corridor to reduce traffic backups. Access to businesses will be maintained during construction.

CAP2415/2416 Asphalt Resurfacing

This project will resurface several streets in the residential neighborhoods and the downtown.

CAP2416 Downtown

Paving is now complete on the project streets downtown. This week the contractor plans to work on cleanup and finish striping the roadways.

CAP2415 Neighborhoods

Phase 2: The contractor is paving the first layer of asphalt today and tomorrow. Once complete crews will spend the rest of the week adjusting sewer structures for the final roadway height. Final paving is tentatively scheduled for early next week.

Some tree branches were damaged during milling operations, so the Forestry Division will be out to trim the trees once final paving is completed.

Phase 3: Construction is starting on Phase 3 streets this week beginning with W. Hudson and working south. Crews will start with concrete work first, working on one side of the roadway at a time.

CAP2435 Road Reconstruction

On Albert Avenue, the contractor will finish pouring concrete for the last section of roadway near Garden and begin prep work for the driveway approaches along the roadway.

On Parkview, the water main work is now complete. This week the contractor will work on removing the existing roadway pavement and begin prep work for the new road.

On Samoset, the contractor will be performing some concrete repairs then begin working on the driveway approaches and sidewalk ramps.

On Vinsetta, the new water main is installed and testing is complete and the contractor has scheduled the water service connections for next week. There will be minimal activity this week.

On Nakota, the contractor is pouring the new roadway pavement early this week.

On Massoit, the contractor will begin removals on the west section and pour the new concrete roadway on the east section early this week.

 *As part of this project the contractor will also be installing traffic calming chicanes on Marais Avenue between Thistle and Lexington as approved by the city commission.

CAP2405 Concrete Street Repairs

This project will replace some of the worst panels on the project streets shown in light blue on the project map linked above.

The contractor has started removals on the Phase 1 streets (first halves) and plans to pour the new concrete this week.  The contractor has also begun removals on the Phase 2 streets and will be working west to east.

The contractor will work on one side of the street at a time to maintain access for residents during construction.

CAP2410 Water Main Improvements

This year the city will be installing new water main on the following streets:

  • Northwood Boulevard from Woodward Avenue to Crooks Road
  • Sycamore Avenue from Northwood Boulevard to Bonnie View Drive

This project is scheduled to begin the week of May 13th beginning on Northwood Boulevard.

CAP2440 Green Infrastructure Improvements

Sheridan Drive - Arden Place - Grandview Road

This project will take place this summer to improve stormwater run-off and drainage around the intersections of Sheridan Drive, Arden Place and Grandview Road. Work is tentatively scheduled to begin mid-May.

CAP2402 Sidewalk Program

Notices of construction and estimates have been mailed to property owners within the target area for the sidewalk program this year. Letters were mailed to ALL property owners even if their estimate was $0.00.

This project is tentatively scheduled to begin in mid-May.
