Use the map above to see if a project is affecting your street. The city realizes construction will be an inconvenience and all efforts to expedite the work will be utilized to minimize traffic conflicts and access to various properties abutting the project.

CAP2306 Rochester Road

This week the contractor will be working on installing driveway approaches and intersections on the west side of the roadway, and also begin backfilling behind the new curbing.

Turn Restrictions and Closures:

Left turns will not be allowed for northbound and southbound traffic at 12 Mile Road, Girard Avenue and at 13 Mile Road during construction to avoid backups. Northbound Rochester Road will be completely closed between Gardenia Avenue and Dewey Street. Local access to the Oakview Cemetery and Rite Aid will remain open.

CAP2308 Major Road Improvements

Vinsetta Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue:

The contractor has completed paving and only minor landscaping work is remaining on these two streets. The contractor is also finishing up lawn restoration as the weather cools down.

Normandy Road:

The contractor is installing edge drain along the roadway and will continue replacing curbing this week on the south side of the roadway. Limited traffic can enter Normandy Road at Coolidge Highway to access the businesses on Normandy Road, Normandy Court and Edgeland. The roadway will be closed at Delemere while the contractor completes the roadwork.

Normandy Road will be closed to thru traffic throughout construction. Residents with driveways on Normandy will still be able to enter the construction zone via the side streets to access their property. Businesses should direct their patrons, employees and deliveries to use Coolidge to access Normandy Road to minimize conflicts with construction work.

CAP2305 Concrete Repair Program

Concrete work is substantially complete on this project. Only minor landscape restoration work remains.

The contractor is also re-scheduling crews to begin the speed hump installation on Buckingham.

CAP2310 Water Main Improvements

Longfellow

The contractor will be working on adjusting sewer structures this week, so they are flush with the final height of the roadway.

Sixth Street

The contractor is continuing concrete work this week and will begin prep work for milling the roadway.

Houstonia

The contractor has begun prepping to begin work, mobilizing materials to the block, doing pavement markings and advanced saw-cutting. Construction is scheduled to begin next week.

CAP2315 Asphalt Resurfacing

The project streets shown in purple on the project map have been divided into three phases as shown below.

Phase 1

These streets are substantially complete. The contract has some minor landscape restoration and sprinkler repairs on their punch list to come back and finish.

Phase 2

On Phase 2 streets, the contractor will be paving on Tuesday this week. Once complete they will continue working on lawn restoration and sprinkler repairs.

Phase 3

On Phase 3 streets, the contractor has paved the first layer of asphalt and this week they will be adjusting sewer structures and manholes for the final height of the roadway.

CAP2335 Road Reconstruction

Parkdale (Rochester to Ardmore)

The contractor has poured the new roadway pavement and once it clears strength tests will begin working on driveway approaches this week and next week.

Helene

The new driveway approaches have been poured and the contractor will open them once they have gained enough strength. The contractor will be working on remaining concrete work this week.

Brockton

The contractor poured the new approaches on the west half of the block and they will remain closed until the concrete has cured. One of the approaches for the staff parking lot of Oakland Elementary will remain open for use while the other one cures. The contractor also plans to work on lawn restoration.

Parking: The school is allowing residents to use the parking lot off Brockton during construction. Some spaces will be marked for school use only but the remaining spaces are available to residents to park during construction.

Seventh

The contractor has finished pouring the roadway pavement is working on the driveway approaches this week. Once poured they will remain closed to gain strength.

Ferris

The new driveway approaches will be poured early this week and remain closed until they gain enough strength. The contractor will also be finishing the remaining concrete work this week and once complete will continue lawn restoration.

CAP2302 Sidewalk Program

The contractor has completed the main sidewalk production work. The contractor will return in a few weeks to finish the remaining repairs and landscaping.

RCOC Roundabout
Greenfield & Normandy 

The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) has begun the installation of a roundabout at the intersection of Greenfield Road and Normandy Road. The intersection is closed to traffic for the duration of construction.

Side streets are closed at Greenfield near Normandy Road to help reduce cut-thru traffic.
