City Commission Meets Monday

Residents can find agendas for city commission meetings on the city's website.

Please note, meeting agendas are often revised at the last minute, so please recheck the agenda prior to the meeting for any changes.

MLK

MLK Day Closures

City offices will be closed in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday on Monday, Jan. 16.

PLEASE NOTE: Trash pickup is not affected for this holiday. Please remember to put your bins out on your regular collection day the week of Jan. 16.

Tree Recycling

Tree Recycling

Through Jan. 13,  a private chipping contractor will collect Christmas trees for recycling on your regular trash day. Place trees separate from trash at the curb by 7:00 a.m. without decorations, lights, stands, and plastic bags.

If residents miss curbside Christmas tree collection, they can take trees to SOCRRA, 995 Coolidge Hwy, Troy, for free disposal through March.

Listen

Listen Up, Royal Oak!

The new City Commission chamber offers an assistive listening solution that delivers clarity to those struggling to hear in a big room that can at times be crowded. The device (shown in the photo) is easy to use.

If you are interested in trying one, please call the Human Resources Department at 248-246-3070 in advance of any meeting you are planning to attend. We’ll be happy to have a listening device ready and waiting for you!

Lockbox Picture

Residential Lock Boxes Available at the Fire Department

The Royal Oak Fire Department’s residential lockbox program is designed to get quick access to adults living in their own homes during medical emergencies -- especially senior citizens.  When every second counts, the lockbox -- which contains a key to your home -- reduces the likelihood of property damage caused by first responders forcing entry into your home in response to an emergency call.
