Blessings in a Backpack:   Provides weekend food to food insecure students in all the Royal Oak Schools during the school year. 


City of Royal Oak: Royal Oak represents a diverse mix of individuals, age groups, incomes, and myriad of residential home styles.  Combined efforts of a proactive city government and Downtown Development Authority over the past several years have brought about a metamorphosis of the city's central business district. 


Common Ground:  Is dedicated to helping runaway and homeless youth, victims of crime, and adults and others in critical situations. 

Ezra Parker Chapter NSDARPromotes patriotism, education, and historical reservation; membership is open to direct descendants of patriots from the American Revolution. 


Friends of the Royal Oak LibraryPromotes and publicize the services of the library; raise funds for materials and equipment; sponsor and assist with special programs; encourage gifts, memorials, and endowments to the library. Directory 


Greater Detroit Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society:  Promotes universal harmony through a cappella song and service.

Greater Royal Oak Democratic Club:  Purpose is to elect Democrats to office and to serve as a means for the community to meet with Democratic elected officials, candidates, and other local Democrats. 


Hour Exchange TimeBank:   Is a community exchange system which also builds community.  


Mind Over Matter (MOM):  Purpose is to erase the stigma surrounding mental illness and suicide; provide hope and raise funding for life-saving programs. 


MK Blanket Wraps:  Mission is to keep Detroit’s homeless warm through our custom designed Blanket Wraps and to empower residents in homeless shelters by teaching them how to sew. 


National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI):  Raising awareness of mental illness through education, referrals, research, support, and advocacy. 

Rotary Club of Royal Oak:  Is dedicated to the youth in the community by providing scholarships to high school seniors and is involved with “Blessings in a Backpack” program for students. 


Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce:  Purpose is to bridge the gap between our local organizations and businesses to better connect with one another, as well as the community. 


Royal Oak Civic FoundationImproves the city’s health, safety, and cultural opportunities by inspiring the philanthropy of residents and business leaders to support a thriving, resilient community.


Royal Oak Community Garden: Goal is to establish a community garden in Royal Oak

Royal Oak Historical CommissionIs responsible for policy & communication between all historical groups, oversees the care and restoration of the Orson Starr House. 


Royal Oak Historical Society:  Displays historical exhibits & Royal Oak history at the Royal Oak Historical Museum 


Royal Oak Lions Club:  Empowers volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace, and promote international understanding through Lions Clubs.


Royal Oak Musicale: Promotes good music in the community; give financial awards to graduating high school seniors planning a college major in music.


Royal Oak Nature Society:  Maintains & protects Royal Oak’s 2 nature parks plus is developing an arboretum behind the Senior Center. 

Royal Oak Optimist Club:  Is a Friend of Youth


Royal Oak PTA Council:  Brings together a closer relationship of the home and school so that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth. 


Royal Oak Republican ClubPresents Republican candidates for elective office and promotes interest in public & political affairs. 


Royal Oak Schools: Purpose is public education service for pre-K to 12th grade students, including adult education.  


Royal Oak Schools Foundation:  Provides funding for educational programs to Royal Oak’s public schools. 

Royal Oak Symphony OrchestraProvides a quality cultural experience for Royal Oak and surrounding communities.  Concert programs, presented by 60+ volunteer musicians, include classical masterworks as well as contemporary selections, ROSO provides opportunities for music education and appreciation to people of all ages. 


Royal Oak Woman’s Club:   Is a social and service club dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service.


Royal Oak Youth Assistance: Strengthens youth and families by reducing the incidence of delinquency, abuse, and neglect through community involvement.


Salvation Army of Royal Oak:  Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.   It serves Southeast Oakland County. 


South Oakland Citizens for the Homeless:  Operates the only day care center for the homeless in this area. 


South Oakland YMCA:  Strengthens the foundations of the foundations of communities in southeast Michigan through programs and services focusing on- Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. 


Teen Clean Closet:  Helps young people in our area by providing them with products needed for everyday cleanliness.
