Marheine, Oliver E., age 92, was born November 4, 1921 in Knox Mills, Wis. He died peacefully October 1, 2014, after a short stay at the Southern Pines Healthcare Center in New Port Richey, Fla. He was the oldest of three sons born to Lydia Onnela and Edward Marheine. He was predeceased by his brothers LaVern Marheine, (Elise) of Wis. and Ronald Marheine, (Annette) of Mich. Oliver was a proud World War II veteran serving the US Army Air Force. Upon returning he married his sweetheart Betty Sherwood from Tripoli, Wis. They made their home of 58 years in Oak Park, Mich where they raised their three daughters. He retired after 29 years of employment at Excello Corporation as a tool and dye worker in Highland Park. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, bowling, cooking, and spending quality time with his family. We will all miss his friendly, helpful, and loving nature. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Betty Marheine, three daughters, Carol Turner (Kim) of White Lake Township, Mich., Janet McGuinness (Kevin) of Cary, N.C., Karen Vuurens (Rod) of Zephyrhills, Fla. He will also be missed by their “other daughter” Sandre Miller (Paul); eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and large extended family.
