Stephenson, Alice Dora; long time Pontiac resident, died January 17, 2015 at the age of 93. She was the only daughter of Mildred (McMillan) and Earl Stephenson, and sister of Donald, Harley, Milton, Lyle, Earlen, and Russell Stephenson. She is survived by her brother Harley of Chicago, Illinois, and her cousin Leona Stellmach of Clarkston, Michigan, along with numerous generations of Stephensons, Stellmachs, and Kellys. Alice started life October 30, 1921 in Maple Ridge, Michigan on the McMillan family farm, then moved with her family to Pontiac at the age of five. She began her working life as a teacher after attending the “Normal School” at Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. After World War Two, she began work as an operator with Michigan Bell, retiring from SBC in 1976. During her retirement, she traveled the world and pursued many various hobbies. Alice was a voracious reader and developed a large book collection which she treasured. She purposefully maintained her health and independence, remaining in her home until her final days.
