Text Messages Available for Hold Pickups

17 December 2013 Published in News

Effective Monday, January 6, 2014, you can arrange to receive hold pick-up notices by text message. This service is available throughout The Library Network’s e-Library service area which includes Royal Oak Public Library. To use this new service, visit My Account in the TLN online catalog. You will need to enter your library card number and PIN number. Click on "Text Message Notification" and then click on "Add phone," choose a phone label and the phone number. Just check mark the Hold Pickup Notice box, save and you're done. Once you opt in it may take 24 hours for the texting to start. Currently only hold notifications are available by text message, but TLN will examine expanding the text messaging service to other types of notices over the coming year. Library staff cannot enter your information to set up the text message notifications, but they can show you how to sign on for this service. Call 248-246-3700 if you have any questions.
