New Park & Read Program

Print

The Royal Oak Public Library is participating in the Michigan Department of Natural Resources "Park & Read" program, offering free family passes to Michigan State Parks. Similar to the Museum Adventure Pass (MAP) program, borrowers may pick up a Park and Read card from the MAP kiosk at the Library and present it to the circulation desk along with your Royal Oak Public Library borrowing card. Each pass is good for one day within seven days from checkout at any of the 98 Michigan State Parks and Recreation Areas (list may not be complete) and continues through September 25, 2009.

Seventy-seven of the participating parks will have hammocks available in their contact stations. When Park & Read users present the park pass, they may also checkout a hammock, if available.

The program is sponsored by Macy's in collaboration with MI Department of Natural Resources and participating public libraries of Michigan.
