In the downtown business district, the Royal Oak Public Library is located in southern Royal Oak, near the corner of Eleven Mile and Main Street. Its front door, on the south side, opens across the green from city hall and the police station. It is easily accessible from several principal routes including Woodward Avenue, I-75 and I-696.

Parking (See red boxes in map below)

Most convenient parking is available in the "Farmer's Market" lot across Troy Street from the Library and in the lot adjacent to the Library on Williams Street. Recommended handicapped parking spaces may be found near the south entrance to the Library, near Veterans Memorial Park.

Children Safety (police station in map below)

If you drop your children off to study at the library, plan to pick them up well before the Library closes. If you arrive after closing time, look for your children at the Royal Oak Police Department on Third Street just west of Troy.

For the safety of all concerned, the Library will not leave children waiting for their parents outdoors. For details on appropriate ages for children to be left alone at the Library, please refer to the Unattended Child Policy.
