NANNEY, GORDON L., age 67, of Royal Oak, died November 26, 2014. Gordon grew up in Ferndale and Royal Oak, Michigan. He was an accomplished musician and artist. He attended Michigan State University for three years until he was drafted to serve in the U.S. Army. Gordon was honorably discharged in 1972 after serving in Vietnam as a Radio Teletype Operator. Loving son of Callie Elizabeth Nanney (nee Brown) age 96, of Royal Oak and the late Melvin Nanney; dear brother of Donald (Ruth Johnson) Nanney, D.D.S. of Holly and Roger (Marie, nee Pope) Nanney of Crown Point, Ind.; and uncle of Kristen Mason, Steven Nanney and Emily Nanney. Family will receive friends Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 1 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. at Coats Funeral Home-Clarkston, 8909 Dixie Highway, Clarkston. A service will be held at 4:30 p.m. officiated by Pastor Richard Vinson. Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly at a later date.
