Jones, Thomas Robert, everyone called him “Bob”. Son of the late Thomas and Nora Jones, passed away, Monday, November 17, 2014. He was born at his parents’ home on Wallace Street in Birmingham, Mich. on March 9, 1929. After retirement, he loved to bring cookies and treats and hang out at Suburban Floral & Package Delivery Service, a company that he and his brother started in 1948. He enjoyed the interaction with all of the drivers and the customers. He was one of the founders of Oakland County Mobile Meals, he was a member of the Shriners, and was a former member of the Madison Heights Kiwanis. He had a passion for watching all of the Detroit sports teams, especially the Tigers and the Lions. He enjoyed caring for his geraniums at his home. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Betty. He was a loving father of Robert (Debbie), the late Kenneth (and late Therese), and Gregg (Ardene). Proud grandfather of Kenneth (Michelle), Davin, Bradley (Becky), Jamie (Paul), Brandon, Nolan, and his great-grandchildren, Gabe, Marina, Mallory, Elicia, Easton, Lauren, Abagail, and Ava. Visitation will be Sunday 2 p.m. until the time of the service 7 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Road (4 blocks E of Woodward), Royal Oak, MI. Memorials to the Madison Heights Kiwanis Club or donor’s choice of charity are appreciated.
