Floyd L Walters Jr.

Floyd L. Walters Jr., 81, of Ferndale, died Feb. 14, 2008, at his home. He was born Sept. 3,1926, in Hazard, Ky. Mr. Walters was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran. He retired from Grand Trunk Railroad after 25 years of service as a rate analyst. He was also a member of the Ferndale V.F.W. Post 1407, an American Legion member at large and a drummer in various bands. Mr. Walters is survived by his children, Wayne Walters of Harrison Township, Floyd (Tina) Walters III of Warren, Katherine Willer of Hazel Park, Tina Walters of Marysville, and Mary-Madeline (Don) McDougall of Amesbury, Mass.; 23 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and brother Jerry Eversols. He was predeceased by his wife, Faye, Aug. 15, 2003; and children Floyd Walters, Deborah Walters and Gary Walters. Visitation Monday, 3-9 p.m., and funeral service Tuesday, 11 a.m., will be at Hoperoft Funeral Home, 23919 John R., Hazel Park. Burial will be at Oak-view Cemetery.

Joyce K. Riggs

Joyce K. Riggs, 75, died Feb. 12, 2008. She is survived by her children, Mark, Craig (Aunna Lippert) and Scott; and grandchildren Patrick and Andrew. She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas. Arrangements are being handled by the David J. Wysocki Funeral Home.

William James Coatsworth

William James Coatsworth, 91, of Beverly Hills, died Feb. 14, 2008, after a short illness. Mr. Coatsworth grew up in Clawson and Royal Oak and attended St. Mary's of Royal Oak. He attended the University of Detroit and graduated from Lawrence Technological Institute in 1943 with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Mr. Coatsworth was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the American Legion Post 253, Frank Wendland, Royal Oak. Mr. Coastworth retired from General Motors Thick and Coach in 1952. Mr. Coatsworth is survived by his children, Greg, Sandy (Michael) Burke and Mary Sue Coats-worth; and grandchildren Brittany and Chris. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Stewart Coats-worth, and his son, William "Skip" Coatsworth. Visitation Sunday, 2-8 p.m., and prayers, 4 p.m., will be at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road. Friends may visit Monday, 9:30 a.m. until the 10 a.m. funeral, at Transfiguration Catholic Church. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield. Harold Randall

Harold Randall, 74, died Feb. 10, 2008. He was born Aug. 11, 1933, in Flint. Mr. Randall was a Korean War veteran. He graduated from Michigan State University and was employed by General Motors. He retired as vice president for sales promotion from Mc-Cann-Erickson Advertising in 1992. Mr. Randall divided his time between Tawas City and Mesa, Ariz., before permanently relocating to Mesa. He enjoyed traveling, snowmobiling, music, country western dancing, calling bingo, playing shuffleboard and golf. He was a member of Elks Lodge #2349 in Apache Junction, Ariz. Mr. Randall is survived by his wife, Cathy; sons David (Sally) of Carsonville, Timothy of Flint and Michael (Sherry) of Howell; daughter Koy Lee (Larry) Matthews of Waterford; step-sons Jeffrey (Kim) Thompson of East Lansing and Steven (Laura) Thompson of Linden; grandchildren Alec, Katie, Jennifer, Ricki, Danny, Josh, Breanne, Britney, Logan, Noah and Isabella; step-grandchildren Jennifer, Katie, Michael, Jacob, Jessica, Amanda and Melissa Thompson; and four great-grandsons. He was predeceased by his parents, Homer and Mabel Randall; and a step-grandaughter, Nicole Thompson. Visitation Sunday, 2-7 p.m., and funeral Monday, 11 a.m., will be at Gramer Funeral Home, 705S. Main St., Clawson. Burial will be at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery.
