In the 2002 movie Minority Report (based on the book of the same title by Philip K. Dick), the main character (played by Tom Cruise) used a computer that he operated with just his hands. It turns out that that technology might possibly be available to us as soon as within the next five years.

At a recent TED conference, the "Minority Report science adviser and inventor John Underkoffler demos g-speak -- the real-life version of the film's eye-popping, tai chi-meets-cyberspace computer interface."
