Take a break, sit back, and enjoy live music at the Royal Oak Public Library!
Join us on Saturday, January 7 at 3:00 PM in the Friends Auditorium for a wee bit o’Scotland as bagpipes, a few dance steps, Scottish stories and entertaining facts are presented by Piper Kim Johnson.
Kim shares her love for her heritage and hobby, as she demonstrates and entertains you with a variety of bagpipes and a sampling of pipe tunes. You’ll hear fascinating details about her piping attire, as well as a brief history of the bagpipes and other interesting Scottish history and folklore. All ages are welcome to join Kim in a simple kilt swinging Highland dance audience participation is encouraged! Practice your brogue, buckle your kilt, don your tam or wrap yourself in your finest tartan shawl, and come enjoy an hour in the Highlands!
Kim has piped for over 30 years and is a senior member of the competitive and award-winning pipe band “Michigan Scottish Pipes and Drums”
