Lee’s classic novel is celebrating its 50th anniversary. It tells the story of Atticus Finch, an attorney representing a young black man in 1930s Alabama who is falsely accused of rape, and the impact the case has on the town and the widower’s family, including his 8-year-old daughter Scout, the book’s spirited narrator.
