Susan J. Suppnick died peacefully on July 17 2012 after a long illness. Susan was born on July 12 1924 in Detroit Michigan to Mabel Iva Marker and Newland M. Steele. Her childhood was spent living in Detroit and Frankfort Michigan. She graduated from Albion College in 1946 where she was active in the Delta Zeta Sorority and was on the swimming team. She met Frederick W. Suppnick while working at the Detroit News and they were married on November 5 1949. Susan relished her traditional homemaker role while they raised four children in their Royal Oak homes. Susan enjoyed cooking canning sewing gardening and remained active in her Delta Zeta sorority. Susan and Fred lived for seven years in Onekama Michigan before retiring to their home on Crystal Lake in Frankfort where Susan was active in the P.E.O and enjoyed frequent visits from family and friends. Susan and Fred spent 15 enjoyable years there together until Fred's death in 2005. Susan's health began to decline after Fred's death and she soon required assistance with everyday tasks which was provided lovingly by her two daughters and their families until professional care was required during her final months. Susan was preceded in death by her husband Frederick W. Suppnick and is survived by two sons Charles (Cheryl) of Canton and John (Cindy) of Bath; two daughters Barbara (Michael) Malasky of Troy and Carrie (Thomas) Foote of Mason; a sister Alice Frye of Frankfort; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Private family services will be held at the Crystal Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the (ALZ.org). The Price Funeral Home of Troy Michigan is handling arrangements.
