Dorothy A. MacMillan age 88 a longtime resident of Royal Oak died Sunday June 17 2012 at William Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak. She was born December 22 1923 in Windsor Ontario to Mark and Margaret Giffard. Mrs. MacMillan graduated from Highland Park High School and was a longtime member and secretary of the First Baptist Church Royal Oak. She volunteered at Beaumont Hospital for many years and was a member of the Detroit Audubon Society. Surviving are her children Denise (Bruce) Eckersley of Lapeer and Robert (Kathy) MacMillan of Farmington Hills; grandchildren Cara (Derek) Anderson Scott Eckersley Julia MacMillan and Andrew (Karri) MacMillan; great-grandchildren Logan and Melody Anderson. Her husband Victor whom she married December 31 1946 in Highland Park died in 2003. She was also predeceased by her siblings Whitney Vera and Ruth. Visitation Tuesday. 2-8 p.m. Service Wednesday. 11 a.m. at the Kinsey-Garrett Funeral Home 420 S. Lafayette Royal Oak with the Rev. Dr. David Nichols officiating.
