Carole L. Tollafield (nee Johns) age 76 of Troy formerly of Clawson for 47 years passed away on Monday March 19 2012 surrounded by family. She was the beloved wife of Edward J. Tollafield and beloved mother of Catherine L. (Pete) Benaglio Jeffery E. Tollafield Scott L. (Debbie) Tollafield Susan E. (Kirk) Olep and daughter-in-law Pamela Tollafield. Dear grandmother of Thomas and Daniel Benaglio Benjamin Allison Kimberly and Kyle Tollafield Maren and Devin Olep. She is survived by brothers William R. Johns and Roger (Betty) Johns many nieces and nephews and dear friend Dawn Pickard. Her greatest joy in life was her wonderful family and her passion was her music ministry. She was a long time church music director organist choir director and handbell director ending her career at St. Johns United Methodist Church in Royal Oak. She enjoyed being the piano accompanist and handbell teacher at the United Methodist Church Choir Camp in Port Huron for two weeks every summer for many years. Cremation and a small private family service will be held. Memorial donations can be made to the Big Beaver United Methodist Men's Camping Fund 3753 John R Road Troy MI 48083.
