Martin Edward DeVries age 49 of Holly former resident of Royal Oak Berkley and Clawson died Thursday January 19 2012. Mr. DeVries was born in Detroit on November 26 1962 the son of Tom and Phyllis (Williams) DeVries. He was a graduate of Berkley High School class of 1980. He married Jean Markulicz on September 17 1993. He was the co-owner of D-Squared Construction; was very active in Holly Little League baseball and football with his sons. Surviving is his wife Jean; two sons Clay Thomas and Jack Martin; mother Phyllis DeVries; brothers and sisters Mike (Julie) DeVries Tom (Carol) DeVries Barbara (Doug) Vensel Judy (Kurt) DeVries Joan DeVries; his mother-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Tom DeVries; his father-in-law Alphonse Markulicz; and nephew Jason Vensel.Visitation Sunday 5-9 p.m. and Monday 2-9 p.m. at Dryer Funeral Home in Holly. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday January 24 201211 a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church of Holly with Father David Blazek Celebrant.
