Stella Rose Tomaszycki, 91, of Royal Oak, formerly of Detroit, died March 15, 2008, at Wynwood of Troy. She was born in Boston, Mass. Mrs. Tomaszycki was a graduate of Pershing High School, where she enjoyed playing tennis and the violin, and also. attended Wayne State University. She was the proud recipient of a Webster's Dictionary for winning a spelling bee in eighth grade. Mrs. Tomaszycki met her husband Henry at Lyria, a Polish dance and choir group. She was a devout member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Royal Oak, where she took on various leadership roles. Surviving are her children, Lawrence H. (Susan) of Ferndale, Mary Ann L. (Thomas) of Ann Arbor, Jerome S. (Donna) of Berkley and James P. (Kathleen) of Waterford Township; siblings, John (Theresa) Wysocki of Alpena and Dorothy (the late Bill) Bor suk of Oxford; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Louise, and by a sister, Matilda. Visitation, 5-8 p.m. today and 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W.11 Mile, Royal Oak; further visitation, 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until time of services, 10 a.m., St. Mary's Catholic Church, Royal Oak, with the Rev.
