Robert H. Ruhl, 79, of Englewood, Fla., a former 25-year resident of Ferndale, died Saturday, March 1, 2008. He was born April 20, 1928, in Detroit. Mr. Ruhl served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and worked at Michigan Consolidated Gas Co. until his retirement in 1981. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Phyllis, whom he wed Nov. 12, 1949, at St. Mary's Church, Royal Oak; children, David J. of Oak Park, Pamela S. McCullough of Madison Heights and Diane M. (Bill) Schoch of Royal Oak; grandchildren, Jeremy (Elizabeth) McCullough, Beth (Brian) Honkanen, Brian Schoch, Scott (Kelly) Schoch and Matthew Schoch; great-granddaughter, Madeline McCullough and sister, Ruth (Stan) Warzocha.
