John James Hicks, 78, of Berkley, formerly of Clarkston, died March 5, 2008, at Boulevard Health Center, Sterling Heights. He was born May 9,1929, in Walkerville, Ontario. Mr. Hicks served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Oakland County Sheriffs Department as a deputy after 25 years of service. He was involved in the Fraternal Order of Police and served as chapter president. The family will receive friends Saturday, noon until the 12:30 p.m. memorial Mass is celebrated at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church, Berkley (Coolidge north of 11 Mile).
