James C. Amburgey, 80, of Madison Heights, died Feb. 25, 2008, at his home. He was born March 9, 1927, in Crofford, Ky., to Robert and Grace Amburgey. Mr. Amburgey was a Teamster who worked for the Detroit Free Press for many years. He is survived by his wife, Agnes, whom he married in 1965; children, Connie (Allan) Strickler of Royal Oak, Michael (Jill) Amburgey of Hamburg, Deborah (Dave) Patterson of Gillett, Wyo., and George (Shelia) Amburgey of Troy; stepchildren, Tim (Nancy) Pruitt of Pigeon Forge, Tenn., and Donna Hunn of Smyrna, Ga.; sister, Emma (Roy) Gramer of Linden; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sisters, Elma and Nellie. Visitation, Wednseday, 5-8 p.m., Thursday, 2-8 p.m., and funeral service Friday, 11 a.m., will be at Kinsey-Garrett Funeral Home, 420 S.
