Edward F. Duering, 93, of Royal Oak for 69 years, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at Cambridge North Nursing Home, Clawson. He was born Oct. 2, 1914, in Detroit. Mr. Duering retired from the General Motors Research in 1981 after 25 years of service. He also was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Ruth (nee Fraleigh), whom he wed Feb. 11, 1939, in Detroit; children, Thomas (Barbara) Duering, LaReta (Max) Roder and Hazel (Al) DeSaulnier; many grandchildren and great grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. He is predeceased by his children, Virginia Duering and Elvin (Dianna) Duering.
