Sam Dome, 89, of Royal Oak, died Jan. 81, 2008, at Cambridge North Healthcare Center in Clawson. He was born Feb. 14, 1918, in Detroit, to Sam and Pauline Dome. Mr. Dome grew up in Almont. He was an avid Harley motorcyclist and will be remembered as a great stcryteller.. Mr. Dome worked at Detroit Broach in Rochester, co-owned Viking Broach in East Detroit, and opened Dome Refrigeration, Royal Oak, in 1955. He retired in 1999 at the age of 80. Mr. Dome also farmed property in Dryden and Almont and operated Dome Hardware in Dryden and Royal Oak. Mr. Dome is survived by his former wife and companion, Carol Magee of Fife Lake; children, Judy (Bill) Reinfeldt of Sebring, Fla., Sam (Terri) Dome of St. Clair Shores, Carol (Dennis) Duncan of Royal Oak, Jim Dome of Royal Oak, and Jeff Dome of Royal Oak; grandchildren, Jennifer Law, Todd (Darla) Dome, Kellie (Bob) Maggio, Sammy Dome, and Kady Duncan; great-grandchildren, Kyle Dome, Katie Dome, Mackenzie Maggio and Scott Maggio; stepchildren, Gene Magee, Mark Magee, Rick Magee, Karen Strouse and their children, all of Fife Lake; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth (Savage); siblings, John Dome, Jennie Williams, Pauline Williams, Connie Frink and Elaine Fox; and grandsons, Scott Dome and Mickey Culliton. Visitation, Wednesday and Thursday, 2-8 p.m., and funeral service, Friday, 11 a.m., will be at Kinsey-Garrett Funeral Home, 420S. Lafayette, Royal Oak. Mr. Dome is to be buried at Dryden Cemetery next to his wife. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sanctuary or Common Ground. www.kinseygarrett.com.
