William (Bill) G. Thomas,. 83, of Clawson, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, surrounded by his family. Despite declining health, Bill continued to work and to enjoy his friends. Bill, the son of Herman and Ruth Andrews Thomas, was born in Royal Oak on Feb. 25, 1924. He was predeceased by his parents; dear wife, Marie; sister, Donna Thomas Patterson; brothers, Robert, Kenneth, Herman; and his granddaughter, Denise Watrous Bowman. Surviving are his daughters, Leslie Thomas (Jim Fox) and Joan Ruen (Jack); sister, Frances Thomas Toutant; grandchildren, Johanna and Anneliese Fox, Debbie and Tommy Watrous (Diane), Denise's husband Mark Bowman; and extraordinary great-grandchildren, Tommy, Mack, and Briggs Bowman and Lyndsey and Amber Watrous; nephews and nieces, Dana and Darryl Toutant, Donald and James Patterson, and Mike, Marvin, Kenneth, MaryAnn, Margaret (Peggy), Arnold, and Jean (Moore) Thomas. Bill will also be missed by his co-workers at Hansons and neighbors at Clawson Manor. Internment will be at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak with a memorial service to be held at a later date.
