Mary C. Marshall was born Aug. 21, 1928, to John and Georgia Hemler. She died Jan. 16, 2008. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Rex Marshall, of 30 years; and five brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sisters, Agnes (Herman) Fortunate and Anna (Clark) Gilbert; and brother, Victor (Rosalie) Hemler. She leaves her children, James (Cheryl), John (Sheryl) and Lorna (Ronald Feld) Klemanski; and stepchildren, Rex Marshall Jr., Cynthia Dawson, Stephen Marshall, Elizabeth Larke, Sue Wierzbicki, Paul Marshall, Sally Suico, Amy Marshall, Nancy Marshall, Phyllis Clevenger, Marjorie Chandonais, and Kerry LaPointe. Mary is survived by 34 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was active in the Redford Presbyterian Church and an accomplished china painter. As Mary C. Klemanski, she was editor of three suburban Detroit weekly newspapers during the 1960s and a former president of Sigma Delta Chi. She retired from the Detroit Health Department. She earned a bachelor's degree and a master's of Urban Planning from Wayne State. Memorial service at Redford Presbyterian Church, 22122W. McNichols, Detroit, MI 48219, on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. reception immediately following. Donations may be made to Redford Presbyterian Church.
