Sidney May Thompson-Fall of Cadillac passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, at Lakeview Lutheran Manor. She was 72. Sidney was born Feb. 8, 1935, to Hugh and Edith (Beirne) Thompson in Hazel Park, Mich. She grew up in Hazel Park and was employed as an executive secretary for 37 years at Borg & Beck —a division ofBorg Warner in Sterling Heights. She married Don Fall on Jan. 6,1989. in Sterling Heights. Sidney and Don moved to Cadillac in 1991. Sidney was involved in many volunteer activities. She worked with the American Red Cross, Love INC, and Mercy Hospice of Cadillac. She was also a member of the Cadillac Women's Club, the Welcome Club of Cadillac, and the Philharmonic. She also liked to work with ceramics. Sidney is survived by her husband, Don; brother, Hugh E. Thompson of Long Beach, Calif., and sister, Julia (Rich) Best of Cadillac. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand- and great-grand-nieces and -nephews. Funeral services will be held for Sidney at 11:30 a.m. Friday Jan. 18, 2008, at the Kinsey-Garrett Funeral Home in Royal Oak. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Wednesday at the Hitesman-Holdship Funeral Home in Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Wednesday at the Hitesman-Holdship Funeral Home in Cadillac. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday in Royal Oak and continue until the time of service. Interment will be at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak.
