Douglas McColl, 88, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Troy. He was born Oct. 15, 1919, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and was a resident of Ferndale for 84 years. Mr. McColl was a machine operator for Detroit's Military Tank Arsenal. He was lovingly referred to as "Uncle B" by his many nieces and nephews. Mr. McColl was predeceased by his brothers, James C. McColl and Jack McColl, and nephew, William John McColl. He is survived by his sistersinlaw, Margaret E. McColl and Patricia McColl; niece, Margaret E. (Dr. David) Balaj; nephews, James C. McColl, Jr., Douglas McColl and Scott McColl; greatnieces and nephews, Corey McColl, Bryan, Elizabeth and Kathryn Balaj, and Caitlin McColl. Visitation, 38 p.m. Friday at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks, Clawson; funeral, 10 a.m. Saturday at Roseland Park Cemetery Chapel, Woodward at 12 Mile Road, Berkley; memorials appreciated to the American Cancer Society, 18505 W. 12 Mile Road, Southfield, MI 48076.
