Ruth Dorene Anderson, 80, of Royal Oak and for merly of Highland Park, died on Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She was born April 17, 1927, in Highland Park. Mrs. Anderson was a former teacher with Detroit Public Schools. She was a member of the Madison Chorale, the Royal Oak Historical Society, and an avid archeologist. Surviving are children, Scott of Troy, Wynne (Greg) Selke of Sterling Heights, Ross (Laura) of Rochester Hills; and grandchildren, Ava, Andrew, Veronica and Cameron. She was predeceased by par, ents, Bessie and Leon Gilleo; and husband Carl Berger Anderson on Nov. 20, 1997. They were married July 19, 1952, in Mount Hope Methodist Church. She was also predeceased by son Jon; and brothers, Vincent and Paul. A private burial will be held, with arrangements by Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. 11 Mile Road, Royal Oak. Memorials are suggested to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospice.
