Virginia Rose Fitch, age 80, of Royal Oak, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, at Medilodge of Sterling Heights. Mrs. Fitch was born Sept. 18, 1927, in Birmingham. A longtime resident of Birmingham and Royal Oak, Virginia married Arthur Fitch on January 12, 1946. She was very resourceful and talented and worked many jobs over the years to help support her family. She was proud and fond of working for the city of Birmingham Golf Course and Ice Arena. Mrs. Fitch was an active volunteer for a number of years at the Royal Oak Senior Center and a member of Berkley Christian Church. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and crocheting but especially enjoyed and loved her family and grandchildren. Mrs. Fitch is survived by her daughter, Tonie (Jim) Efaw, son, James A. (Susan) Fitch and grandchildren, Christopher, Karen, Dawn, Michael and Ann Marie. Also survived by nine greatgrandchildren and brother, Leonard Kurowsky. Mrs. Fitch is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur. Funeral at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (Between 14 Mile and 15 Mile roads) 11 a.m. Monday. Friends may visit 29p.m. Sunday.
