Lyle Gobie, 82, of Waterford for 20 years and formerly of Oak Park for 33 years, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, in Royal Oak. He was born Oct. 19, 1924, in Hartland, Vt. Mr. Gobie was a VFW member in Ferndale. He was a rifleman in World War II. Mr. Gobie was predeceased in April of 1998 by his wife, Dorsey Gobie, whom he wed May 28, 1951, in Angola, Ind. Surviving are his daughters, Linda (John) Schiappachsse of Farmington and Elise (Roger) Socotch of Waterford; siblings, Gordon (Maria) Gobie of Florida and Elese (Robert) Tyler of New Jersey; and grandchildren, Nichole and Angela.
