Thelma A. Mazich, 88, of Royal Oak, formerly of Shelby Township, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, at home. She was born July 16, 1919, in McAlester, Okla. Mrs. Mazich retired from William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. She taught adult education sewing for more than 20 years and belonged to several tricounty square dance clubs. She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas Mazich Sr., in 1969. The couple were wed Nov. 10, 1945, in Detroit. She was also predeceased by special friend Riley Williams in 2004 and by parents Clarence and Gertrude Baker. Surviving are her children, Nicholas (Pam) Mazich Jr. and Linda Pressley (Mazich); siblings, Lee (Jim) Blackburn of Allen Park, Jean (Harold) Bernhardt of McAlester, Edith (Bob) Morgan of Garland, Tex., Joyce (Doug) McLean of McAlester and Barbara (Jim) McLendon of Garland; five grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.
