Jacquelyn Ann Converse, 80, of Beverly Hills, formerly of Royal Oak, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at St. Anne's Mead in Southfield. She was born February 16, 1927, in Highland Park. Mrs. Converse graduated from Michigan State University and worked as a substitute teacher in the Birmingham school system. She was an active member of the St. John Episcopal Church. She was past president of the PEO and a member. of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Byron, whom she wed on April 22, 1950, in Royal Oak at St. John Episcopal Church; children, Sheryl Schmidt, Sandy (Gary) Phillips and Ron Converse; siblings, Barbara Field and Leigh Smith; eight grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. Visitation, 29 p.m. Monday at the SawyerFuller Funeral Home, 2125 W. 12 Mile, Berkley; additional visitation, Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at St. John Episcopal Church, 26998 Woodward, Royal Oak; memorials, St. Johnis Episcopal Church and/or St. John's Hospice; online condolences, www.sawyerfuller.com.
