David James Valko III, 60, who lived in Royal Oak in the same house since 1966, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at his residence under care of Hospice of Michigan. He was born April 16, 1947, in Ferndale. Mr. Valko worked as a manager for Air Line Caering for more than 30 years. He was a manager at Sky Chefs Catering at Metro Airport. Being a grandpa was very important to him. He was very much a family man and was known as "Papa." He was predeceased by parents, David James Valko II and Shirley Edwards; and brother, Ronnie Pete Valko. He is survived by wife, Diane L. Valko (Wallace), whom he wed Aug. 7, 1965, in Troy; children, Dan J. (Bridget) Valko of Pontiac, Dena J. (Bob) Menard of Clarkston; siblings, Dennis Valko, David Lee Valko, Richard (Debbie) Valko, Ronald Patrick (Wendy) Valko, Judy Turner, Beth Jarvis, Susan Ruff, Shirley (Dave) Althoff; many nieces and nephews; and grandchildren, Hunter, Remington, Parker, Abby and Maddie. Visitation, 39 p.m. Monday at SawyerFuller Funeral Home, 2125 W. 12 Mile Road, Berkley; services, 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Peter S.
