Patricia Jane Parsons Connell, formerly of Royal Oak, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, in the company of family at her home at the Highland Springs Retirement Center in Dallas, Texas. Patricia was born May 2, 1931, in Detroit and grew up in nearby Royal Oak. She attend ed Michigan State University and graduated from Antioch College. Pat lived with her family in Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, Richardson and The Woodlands, Texas, and moved back to Dallas in 2006. She was active in many community and church groups, including the League of Women Voters, the Crisis Action Line, and the Living. Arts Council. Pat's generosity of spirit will be missed, and she will be remembered fondly by all that came to know her. A loving wife and mother, Pat leaves behind her college classmate and husband of 54 years, Joseph E. Connell. Also surviving are her son, Douglas E. Connell, and his partner Gail A. Murton of Saint Paul, Minn., and daughter Marjorie E. Allen of North Richland Hills, Texas; sister, Marjorie A. Parsons Stanger of Royal Oak; sisterinlaw, Katharine (Raymond) Koch of Pompton Plains, N.J.; brotherinlaw, Willis N. LeVan of Huntsville, Ala.; and nine nieces and nephews and 15 grandnieces and grandnephews. Memorials may be made to charities supporting cancer research.
