Marion D. Kelley, 87, of Royal Oak, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at Hilton Convalescent Home, Ferndale. She was born Oct. 18, 1919, in Royal Oak, to Ellis and Grace Farmer. Mrs. Kelley was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church, Royal Oak, the U.M.W. and the Wesley and Bell choirs at church. She also was a member of the Roamin Oaks Camping Club, Widows on Wheels, Tri-County Quilt Guild, Royal Oak Musicale, Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, Y-Moms-Club, PTA, life member of the Girl Scouts and a former Cub Scout leader. She was a lunchroom monitor in the Royal Oak school system, a polling place volunteer and enjoyed square dancing. Surviving are her children, Larry Kelley of Royal Oak, Jerry (Diana) Kelley of Ypsilanti, David (Kandy) Kelley of White Lake and Becky (Dennis) Hetchler of Warren; grandchildren, Leslie Cena, Bryon Kelley, Jeffery Kelley, Chad Hetchler, Kristin Kelley and Jamie Isrow; and great grandchildren, Kelsey Cena, Kara Kelley, Dominick Kelley and Presley Isrow. Her husband, Chester, whom she married Jan. 1, 1938, in Austin, Minn., died in 1981, and her grandson, Sean Kelley, died in 1998. Visitation 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Kinsey-Garrett Funeral Home, 420 S. Lafayette, Royal Oak; service, 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Susan DeFoe Dunlap of the First United Methodist Church, Royal Oak, officiating; burial, Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens, Novi; memorial contributions suggested to Macomb County Girl Scouts Otsikita Council or Royal Oak American Legion; wwwkinsey-garrett.com.
