Dorothy G. Hessell, 95, a longtime Royal Oak resident, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at home. She was born July 5, 1912, in Lansing to the late Roy and Frieda Norton. Mrs. Hessell was a supporter of the Royal Oak Historical Society, a founder of an Alzheimer's support group for caregivers, and she loved square dancing. Mrs. Hessell was predeceased in 1986 by her husband, Edward Hessell, and a grandchild, Kevin. Surviving are her children, Elaine (Dean) Fisher and Lawrence (Blanche) Hessell; siblings, Margaret McKee and Royce (Gerry) Norton; grandchildren, Karey, Jeffrey, Nathan, Darlene, John, Cynthia and Donald; 24 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
