Jessie M. Humphrey, 88, of Royal Oak since 1946, died on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007. She was born Jessie Mary (McKay) on April 26, 1919, in Detroit. She worked as a secretary for the Detroit School District, retiring after 18 years of service with the Detroit Board of Education. Surviving is husband, Richard L., whom she married on July 20, 1946; children, Richard C. (Martha) of Berkley, and John P. Humphrey of Royal Oak; brother, Rev. John D. McKay of Grand Rapids. She was predeceased by siblings Robert, David and Wallace; Visitation is 3-9 p.m. Tuesday at Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home, 2125 W 12 Mile Road, Berkley, with an 11 a.m. funeral Wednesday at the funeral home; officiating, Andrew Renfrew, David Reid and Rev John D.
