Dennis Michael Vick, 34, formerly of Berkley, died Saturday, July 21, 2007, in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. He was born Oct. 3, 1972, in Montrose, Scotland. Mr. Vick was educated at schools in Iceland, Spain, California and Michigan. He was active in scouting and sports as a youth. A 1991 Berkley High School graduate, Mr. Vick enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid reader, Detroit sports fan, movie buff, trivia pro and video gamer. He also was an accomplished carpenter and plumber. He was employed by Union Pacific Railroad in California as a conductor. Mr. Vick was a righteous man who befriended many with his nonjudgmental, kind and carefree personality. He will be dearly missed. Surviving are his parents, Gerald and Sharon Vick of Berkley; brothers, Lawrence (Kimberly) of Chicago and Kenneth of Laguna beach, Calif; grandparents, Ann Vick of Berkley and Jasper and Laura Manderachia of Phoenix, Ariz.; niece, Ella Vick; girlfriend, Hiroko; and numerous relatives and dear friends. Burial was in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif A Mass in his memory will be celebrated at Our Lady of LaSalette, Berkley, at 7 p.m. Oct. 3; memorial donations, American Diabetes Association.
