Theresa Cecelia Lampinen, 85, of Warren, died on Friday, Aug. 10, 2007, in Odessey Home Health Care Hospice. She was born April 13, 1922, in Baltimore, Md. Mrs. Lampinen was employed as a teacher at St. Mary's Catholic Elementary School in Royal Oak and belonged to the Ferndale Footlighters. She loved to sing. She married Charles Lampinen on Dec. 26, 1947, and the couple always looked forward to celebrating their "month-a-versary". She is survived by her husband, Charles Lampinen; children, Eric (Patricia), Richard (Susan), Paul (Debbie), Donald, Thomas, Timothy and Theresa (Eric) Smith; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Charles; and brother, Louis Jira. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 646 Monroe Street, Detroit, with the Rev. Ed Vilkauskas officiating. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery Utica. Visitation is noon-9 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. Scripture service at Lyle Elliott Funeral Home, 31730 Mound Road, Warren, and at 9- 10a.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be addressed to the American Diabetes Association.
