Betty A. Carlson, 71, of Madison Heights died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007. She was born Aug. 7,1936, in Highland Park. Mrs. Carlson lived in Madison Heights for 71 years. She graduated from Madison High School and was a secretary for many years in the Madison School District. She also was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 9507, Madison Heights. Surviving are her daughter, Kimberely (Richard) Helhowski of Warren, three grandchildren and close, friend William Dennison. She was predeceased by a child, Lynn Depanicis in 1983. Visitation, 2-6 p.m. Friday at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home, 30351 Dequindre, Madison Heights; service, 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Gateman of Zion Lutheran Church, Ferndale, officiating; cremation, Southern Michigan Services, Royal Oak.
