Edward James Shields, 72, of West Branch, formerly of Clawson, died Saturday, July 7, 2007, at West Branch Regional Medical Center. He was born Jan. 6, 1935, in Detroit. Mr. Shields retired from Pipe Fitters Local 636. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving in the Korean War, he was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans. He loved the outdoors, woodwork¬ing and fishing. Mr. Shields was a lay preacher and Bible teacher for 35 years. Surviving are his sons, Terry, Daniel (Cathy), Todd, Chris (Linda) and Sean (Carrie); step¬children, Sharon (Greg) Belloli, Daniel (Jackie) Tighe, Shelly (Steve) Trusdale, Shannon Tighe, Sharise (David) Griggers, Shawn (Rick) Heinz and Donnie Tighe; 29 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; 25 great¬step-grandchildren; brothers, Chuck (Verna), Michael (Dorothy) and Wayne.
